You’ve rehearsed your moves and done the reading, but then test time comes around and the crazy, tense atmosphere of the big moment totally blows your concentration.
That’s just how Mia the beagle felt during the heat of agility competition at the Westminster Dog Show, where literally everything was more interesting than proceeding through the course in an orderly fashion. Photographers, crying babies, the smell of the turf, and finally, Mia’s own bum were so distracting she simply couldn’t deal with the pressures of performing in front of the live audience.
“Don’t be a beagle”
Despite her dismal scores, Mia still had a great time at the big event, and the audience definitely loved watching her silly antics. Her handler Natalie Fisher thinks the high-energy dog just didn’t know what to do with all her energy.
